Help! I’m restoring a 69 fastback. My son took apart the interior (5 years ago) and although we have a few pictures he took as well as the shop manuals I’m lost on this one. I’m slowly putting the interior back together. The lower dash is installed along with the wiring harness and I’m now trying to sort out the installation of the instrument cluster. I have 4 gauges … the two in the center are mounted in a self contained metal unit that I can see attach to mounting points just below the windshield and the upper part of the lower dash. The two outer gauges are basically “floating” with nothing to connect to (at least that I can find) to the frame of the vehicle. These two gauges are in metal housings and do have mounting tabs … damn if I know what they attach to. I’ve gone through all our parts and I’m afraid something has been misplaced or I’m simply missing something (maybe my brain). Appreciate any help and I can certainly provide more info (pics) if necessary. … Thanks

The attach the back of the dash cluster. I don't have good pics, but perhaps the pics in this auction can help. Hopefully someone more technical can explain it.

The guages are attached to plastic bezels/spacers that attach to the gauge bezel. Here's a picture of an assembled unit from the back as reference.
