Hey, all. Just a little background on this build. I am helping a good friend rebuild this car from the ground up. He bought the car on EBay back in 2004 and it was supposed to be "in good condition". After 2 years of helping him replace half the front driver side frame rail, shock tower and nearly all the floor pans the car was finally in "good condition". We put in a 5.0 (carbed) with a T5 and a 9" with posi and 3.80 gears. He drove the car for all of about 1 summer and then decided to blow it all apart and paint it....while also starting a family with his new wife. Here we are 10 years later and finally finishing up all the sheet metal work and putting everything in SPI epoxy primer. Well enough talk....time for the pictures!!

Got everything blocked out in 180 today. Hood still needs a little work but should be able to get the first round of 2k high build down by the end of the month. Can't wait to be done with filler work!!

The alignment of the hood and headlight buckets looks really good. I have seen so many cars where the trim does not align well, glad to see you are taking the time to get it all sorted out.

I am restomoding a '70 Mach 1, just years behind you.

Got some updated photos for you all. Hood is taking much longer than expected....SHOCKER!! All in all things are coming along nicely. Found the hood alignment was best without the hood hinge springs installed so we finished out the filler work without the springs installed and we'll try some different springs or modify the originals once we get to final assembly. No more talkie talkie...time for pictures!!

Man, low '70s look so lethal. Great progress so far!

Wow!! Been sometime since I've updated this thread. We are now doing the final work on the fender/door gaps and about to move on to the fender/hood gaps, which should hopefully go pretty quickly. Not too much longer before we can get down a couple coats of 2K on the whole car and block it out with 220 then 400. Might actually get some paint on this thing before summer!!

We finally got to the point where we can get the car off the rotisserie and on to the body cart. Threw the fenders and hood on last night to start aligning everything and doing final filler/2k primer work before sealing it all. Coming along nicely.

Finally to the point where we are putting on a final coat as we are using SPI black epoxy in the engine bay. We only got one coat down before we ran out of material. Did not realize how much the engine bay would take. We'll finish up the rest this weekend. Doing two more coats than some filler work and another coat or two over the filler work. Can't wait to have the engine bay completely wrapped up!!
