Hello, went to bolt up the hooker headers to AFR 185's and the nice new summit header bolts are way to long??? The bottom out. Anyone know the correct lenght for AFR heads?
I feel like I take i step foward and it another week getting the correct parts again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pissed:
Will it ever end?
Thanks Paul

uhm, I retracted my problem. I was told that the bolts were bottomming out by my helper, and posted about it before checking it out for myself *LOL*

My helper was really feeling the resistance of the copper header gaskets, not the end of the bolt hole. I'm using 3/4" Stage 8 header bolts with Hooker Comps and AFR 185's ... they work pefect.

haha. John you're being diplomatic. In all honesty, the helper was 70sportsroof. Hey, it was late at night anyway and you needed to stop and get some sleep. I just made up the bottoming out story to get you to quit for the night. :joker: (yeah, right! ! ! and I've got a mint KR500 I bought off ebay for $1,500.) Well, anyway, that's my story today.

In all honesty, I thought they were bottomming out, too. If you recall, I even measuered one of the bolt holes that night and you and I agreed that the 3/4" bolts wouldn't work. It wasn't until the next day when I realized that no one makes a header bolt shorter than 3/4" that I took a second look and discovered we were both just too tired that night.

So I was partially being diplomatic, partially trying to save face, but mostly too lazy to type all that.
