Any hints on quarter panel windlace install?

Whenever I think I've figured it out I haven't. They are the ones npd sells for a 69 fastback. The car hasn't had them for 30 years but I don't remember them looking like these. I also thought they were held at the top with a screw. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I just bought a pair of these from NPD, was scratching my head trying to figure out they go on. I've got the originals and think I see how they go in. But they have a slightly different shape and length. I'll try to remember to take a picture of the old ones and share here later today.

Here's a pic of the new windlace on top, and the old on the bottom. I think its safe to say that some trimming will be involved.

I'm assuming that the seat will need to be removed, and the interior quarter panel loosened to install these?

I tried both pieces each way. I tried the piece shown on the drivers side and what I found was it was near impossible to bend the windlace (since it is glued closer to the end on the other side) to make the corner at the top where the quarter glass is. Then the longer piece with the notch would be at the bottom and (no windlace glued on that end) will not form to the bottom corner so that it will follow the body and tuck under the sill plate. As it is, I had to cut about an inch off the bottom.

They came out ok but now that I see your new pics I see the originals just screwed through the windlace. I remember they were held on with a screw but I didn't remember that is how it was. The other problem I had when trying to mount them opposite the way I did, the added thickness of the windlace pushed the quarter pillar out more and the fit was not as good IMO.

I just removed which seems like original windlaces of a 70 vert and notched part is at the bottom. As far as I can remember, none of the 5-6 cars (mostly 69 and 70) Idealt with had a screw through the windlace. They were fit on the edge and rear quarter panels pressed on them.
