Headman Elites on the son's 68 302. They are ceramic coated(satin finish) and have a thicker flange and tubes then the polished Headmans and are cheaper than the polished ones.

May I quote myself. For my 302 I got these.
The Purdy shiny ones are cheaper...the thicker
(for trucks usually) are more expensive.

I was recently reminded how much I enjoy this site and how much I miss it when it is down.So I wish to contribute another Post for the enjoyment of "Us" the Mustang enthusiast.

Red_66FastBack Link inspired me to go with HedMan Headers #88306 until I can afford FPA's (my preferred Choice)

I cam across these HedMan HTC's Ceramic Coated . I bought them for 152.50 and think it was a good buy Buuuhhaahaha :)

HedMan has three levels for headers.

Standard Painted black

HTC smoothed and buffed for show

Elite thicker for heavy duty use.

The HTC and the Elite have an attached Badge.

I use Mac long tubes for classic stangs like ours. They encompass all classics and in my 68 ( i have the chromed hts) they have amazing clearance. When you stang next to the car you can not tell it has headers as you can with most long tube stangs. They tuck under nicer than my actual mufflers. They will offer much better top end than shorties!!!

Put ceramic coated shorties on my 69. Went with a Patriot brand, from Summit. They are made by the same folks who bring us Pertronix stuff. Mine is a 302 with Dart heads. Straight bolt ons - no mods at all. Plenty of clearance on everything. Used the Stage 8 fasterners to hold them on.

That's what I went with as well. I am very happy so far (had them for almost a year now). I had hedman shorties before and I was happy with them too, except they were not ceramic coated (big mistake) and then crumpled in an accident
