C4 Shifts from 1st to Drive (Skips past 2nd)

I have a 3-Speed C4 Transmission that when I place it into Drive (3rd Position), and take off from a dead stop, the Transmission shifts from 1st to 3rd and "Skips" right past 2nd.:shocked:

I can "Manually" shift through "All" 3 gears; however, when in "Automatic" mode (Shifter is placed into Drive, i.e., 3rd Position), the Transmission ALWAYS goes from 1st to Drive.

I don't know "squat" about transmissions (C4), so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check your band adjustment. The lock nut on mine had come loose and the band adjustment bolt had backed out slightly. This doesn't allow the band to grab the rotatig drum for 2nd gear inside. 5 minute fix....

Are you sure it's going from first to third and not second to third? And yea I would agree with him. It's either loosened up or the band broke. It also could be something stuck in the govenor or in the valve body.
