Here's my original block from the June 67 289 with 302 cast into the lifter valley. When I first saw this, I was a bit stumped.

So Dave, what is the casting number on the block? Is it a C8 number? How about the rest of the cast iron?

It's been a very long time since I've had the starter out (on that car) and I'm pretty sure I don't have any pics of it.
My 2V intake is packed away in a box somewhere.
