I recently read an ebay auction where a guy was selling an autolite 2100 (which I currently have on my car). He says he sells the carb without a dashpot for manual transmission cars, or can add a dashpot for automatics. I'm about to do a T5 swap dropping the C4 currently in my 66 coupe. I wasn't aware of any connections to the carb from the C4. I've read up tons on this swap and have never read about having to do anything with the carb. Assuming there is a dashpot on my carb now, is it something I should remove when going to the T5? From what I've read, it sounds like the dashpot slows the deceleration down as the car approaches idle in order to prevent from passing right by idle and stalling out. Isn't that something you'd want on your car regardless of if it's a manual or automatic? Maybe I don't understand exactly what the dashpot does. Thanks for the assistance.
