So has anyone used the Dynamat Custom Cut kits for a 67-68 fastback? I was looking at their website where they sell the products which appear to be the "Dynamat Xtreme" that has been precut to fit your car. However, by the time I add us all the kits, they want over $1,000.00 for the kits to do my fastback!

Roof Kit: $110
Door Kit: $200
Trunk Kit: $160
Under Rear Seat Kit: $200
Floor Kit: $400
Total: $1,070

I'm sorry, is my math wrong or are they completely high?

Thanks.

Dynamat which I put in my Mustang has always seemed overpriced.

If your prices are correct seems they are charging quite a premium to do the cutting for you.

A number of the companies sell kits.

Most kits now seperate the sound dampening and heat characteristics.

Acoustashield while still pricey is around $600 bucks.

I think you are better off (cheaper) to just buy the material and do your own cutting.
Since I have used Dynamat I have used a variety of different brands and have not noticed a quality difference (except in price).

We use Fat-Mat in every car we do, works fine and is a whole lot cheaper.
x2 When it comes time to put the inside back together I will be ordering Fat Mat. $130 for 100 sq. feet...

I also went with fat mat... not worth the extra money to have it precut, just add a few hours to the install.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to cut the stuff and like others have said, Dynamat is WAY too expensive. Fat Mat, 2nd Skin are both very good.

I have purchased several boxes of Dynamat and after totally restoring the inside sheetmetal and painting it body color I dont want to cover it up. Was thinking that perhaps a few large strategically placed panels alongside the factory heavy butyl panels might offer the same sound protection. I saw a video of the Aston Martin cars being assembled and they use a few precut pieces with fingers that extend.

I also went with Fat Mat - Rattle Trap. $199/100 sqft. It covered from the firewall to the trunk and had a lot left over. Works really well. Just make sure you cut out for all the carpet screw holes and such otherwise they are lost forever. Also get foil backed tape at Home Depot to cover the seams in the floor to keep water out from a cowl leak. I bought mine here because of the free shipping: 100^ Rattle Trap Sound Deadener Noise Killer
