It happens only when I'm out of gasoline... What the heck? As soon as I put 15 gallons into the pony, the turn signals didn't skip a beat. WIll some NOT SMART ASSES please tell me why this is?

My guess (AND IT IS A GUESS) is that the weight of the gas (15 gallons of gas weighs a lot) shifts the height and orientation of the car just enough that some electrical connection somewhere is no longer stressed. You are probably going to have to follow the wires form the firewall to the signals looking for portions that are tight or pinched by something.

Good luck.

Check the wiring under the dash. The sending unit in the gas tank sends a voltage to the gas gauge in the dash, and the turn signal indicator and wiring is also in the dash. Maybe there is a short and when the voltage from the sender reaches a certain level, it screws with the directionals. That's the only real link between the gas tank and the blinker.

I think Mr. Harvey's on the right track. I would agree that the weight of the gas causes some connection to be more positive. I would only add that it may not be a hot connection that is the problem. It could very well be a ground.

Interesting... Thanks for the feedback guys.

It is a very disturbing problem with it happens. My girlfriend was driving the first time it happened, and she flipped out. It wasreally weird to watch it from outside the car... Thanks for the input gentlemen.
