VIN Decode Help

I just got a '66 Coupe last weekend and trying to figure out the data card.

I have tried a couple of the different VIN decoders around the web and I have gotten a few different responses.

What I am wondering about is the exterior color, currently the car is red (well sort, it is a project car) with red interior but the data tag is as follows:

Color: Y7

My question is that I haven't seen a color with a number after it. Some of the decoders say that the car should be silver blue while others say it should be Dark Moss Green Metallic.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tyler

It's the Dark Moss Green Metallic. A guess with the number is that "Y" was DMGM in 1967, replacing Silver Blue Metallic which was the "Y" code in 1966. So, when it became available mid-year 1966, they called it "Y7"

"My God, WHAT have I done?!?"

You might try pulling off one of the quarterpanel extensions and see what color is underneath.
I did that once on a car that was missing the data tag, and was amazed by the original color. When we stripped the paint, we found more of the original color all around the car.

I am a bomb technician. If you see me running, try to keep up.

One more question along this line, I was going through the glove box and found the owner's manual. When I opened the cover I noticed that the original owner's name, address, the dealer, date the car was purchased, VIN, Data Plate Info and two other codes.

I didn't recognize these codes, they are "FE736" AND "FN608". Does anyone know what these might be? Are these option packages or something?

Thanks again!!
