I am dropping a 91 EFI 5.0 and AOD into my 64 Falcon (yes, not a Mustang, please forgive me! But our 68 Mustang already has this combo).
The engine is being professionally rebuilt using GT40P heads, Ford Racing Roller Rockers, Cobra upper and lower intakes, new springs, and a larger throttle body. *Maybe* a new cam as well.
Now, the AOD is working, but I want to rebuild it while it is out of the car. Given that I will have a little more stock horse power with my above setup and that this will be a fun street car and not a racing machine, what AOD rebuild kit do you recommend?
Lastly, I am a novice when it comes to mechanical stuff. I learn fast and follow directions well. I am currently pulling the engine and transmission from the 91 donor Mustang myself by following directions, being very careful/meticulous, and using my brain
Do you think an AOD is within my range or rebuilding? If so, what literature or maybe video do you recommend as well?
