I posted a while back, about getting the Holley Raptor mufflers, and L200 said they sound like the Thrush Turbo mufflers. I can't find a recording of either..... I don't have a gas tank in my car, so I can't put them on and hear them. Does anyone have a recording, or can they tell me what they sound like? I will be running an X-pipe, with 2.5 inch pipe ALL THE WAY. Please, give me some idea, so I can decide if i want to toss them and buy flowmasters or not. HELP /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Don't have a sound recording of them, but, I have them on my car. The 460 has long tubes and 2 1/2" all the way. At idle, sounds like the headers are open....but, they are very quiet at highway speeds. I love them.
If I were you, I would at least try them. If they are like the Thrush Turbo's I think you will like them...

For comparison purposes, the Thrush welded muffler sounds a lot like the NPD Turbo but has a much meaner idle, it doesn't sound like a tractor as bad as the turbo.

If you really want the Flowmaster sound, there are two ways to get it... The Flowtech Terminator muffler, which took Flowmaster 50 series technology and copied it, or buy a Flowmaster muffler.

I've heard Thrush's before and always thought they were too harsh. I'm running Try-Y's, X Pipe w/2-1/2 throughout and love the sound of my Flowmasters, although 50's might have been a little more quiet /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Best I can describe it is…. They sound a little tinny and the exhaust note is more like it sounds straight from the header, just not as LOUD. The rumble/burble sound isn't very smooth.

Bought an exhaust system from a supplier. The pipes and clamps were fine and the reasonators also, but they gave me Thrush turbos. TO put it mildly, they stunk. The noise was harsh and abrasive. There was no pleasant tone that you would expect from good mufflers. Next time, Dynomax. I also had a car with Cherry Bomb turbos. A bit loud but great sound.
