I just went and did something totally irrational. I bought a 68 Dodge Charger! My friend(MOPAR freak) had this thing for over a year and was in the process of building a 440 R/T clone but decided he wanted a 'cuda instead. The car is basically a rolling shell with no drive train or interior or steering column and rust in the rear quarters. That's the bad, now the good, it has new floor pans and trunk pans still in the box, the car has been completely stripped and primered (except for the rust spots), the car has lots of original extra parts with it ,(besides the quarters and floor) the body is in very solid condition and I have a line on a good 440. We haven't finalized the price yet but I am haggling with him in the 500-800 dollar price range. He gave $1200 for it last year. I struggle enough keeping money and free time flowing into my Mach 1 project. I am afraid I have made a bad choice and could put that money to good use on the mustang but that Charger is such a cool car.
I said that I would never own a Chrystler product and look at me now! I feel like I have betrayed my Mustang family. Oh well, at least it's not a Chevy!
