Myself - One of my best friends in high school got a 64 1/2 from his parents (sometime in 1986, IIRC). Wimbledon White, red interior with console, 289, cruise-o-matic tranny... I don't think it was a GT, but my memory has faded considerably since the mid '80's. I thought it was a fantastic car. I got to drive it some the week we went to Raleigh to be Senate pages. My car was inherited from my Grandmother... a 1971 Ford LTD coupe (Landau top no less)... Scotty's Mustang was "pure fun" by comparison.

SWMBO - Her dad bought a plain vanilla coupe in the fall of 1964, also Wimbledon White with the I6, 3 on the floor. It was their family favorite for the better part of two decades. He sold it before my wife got to her teens and could drive it. In many respects, no one in my wife's family ever forgave him for selling it. So when discussions of a mutual 10th Anniversary gift came up, a classic Mustang was mentioned as a possibility... which, in turn, became a reality.

My boys are currently 4 and 3 years old. I'm hoping I can hold this coupe together for about 6-8 years then see if they want to help me restore her. But, Murphy's Law being what it is, they won't have any interest and it will be my daughter (due to arrive on or about Feb. 22) who will be my "little grease monkey."
