I just recently acquired a console for my '65 but it is missing the endcap. It's the short model. After looking in my Texas Mustang catalog, it appears there are two to choose from. One is for a 1965, and the other is for a 1966. Since neither the seller or I know what year this console came from,(65 or 66) I'm having a hard time deciding which one to order. The 65 model cap is narrow, and the 66 is wide.
The pic in the catalog looks like the width only affects the outer dimensions, and not the inner. Any ideas?

You should have the 65 narrow, but you can use the 66 wide. It really does not matter on the console.

65/66 consoles are identical. It is the year of the car that determines which end cap you need.
