So, I get a call this morning regarding a truck I was gonna put an engine in for a guy, it was 95 S-10. I really wasn't in any hurry to do it, as that's not how I like to make money. he huffed and puffed, and I told him to get it out of here, I didn't need his work (he's a chevy freak). Not 5 mins after he came and got it, I got a call from a guy, reffered to me from someone in Ohio, to do the sheet metal adn paint portion of his restoration. At first, I gave him the usual, "well, you are gonna wait at least a year and a half, and it might take a while to get it done, once you get it to me." speech. He then pulled out pictures of the car, and the door tag. I almost fell over. This was the guy who bought the 1970 Boss 302 that I had called about last year. The car sold for $800 (imagine how upset I was when I called and found out it was sold) This is the real deal, and I am going next week to look at the car in person, and I will get pictures. he already had the engine done at a local machine shop, and it's sitting in a crate, looking extremely correct. Well, correct as far as I know from seeing a sig pic of abadtb2 (sorry if I didnt' get that handle correct) but the car is pretty much a canidate for a complete full unibody frame structure, and all new skins. He found NOS doors, and NOS fenders at a swap meet (he said he paid more for one fender than he did for the whole car.)
I am really excited now, because I have been tryign to get rid of working on these newer cars that have no meaning to me, also been trying for years to get rid of these chevy impala guys who keep coming to me from references of the 5 I have done so far. On top of that car, I am still working on getting a clean schedule to do a few VMF'rs mustangs, and not just any old run of the mill mustangs either. one is a 68 fastback 390 car, and the other is a 66 vert A code GT I am extremely excited to see things going in this direction, as I relaly can't stand working on anything that I don't get some kind of sick twisted pleasure out of doing. This is deffinitely a good way to break out of this bad slump I have been in.
