What tips do you have for removing a windshield and back glass. My car is a 68 Fastback and the windows have never been out. What tool do you use to remove the chrome trim from the windows. I am especially worried about getting the back glass out. I am still tearing down the interior but won't be long until I am ready to remove the windows and thought I might need to order a tool or something. What is the recommended way to store the fastback rear glass to keep it from getting broken?

Thanks.

Most Mustang parts houses carry a tool that is supposed to allow you to remove the stainless trim around the glass. In my experience, those are too flimsy. For less than $10 you can get a pro quality tool that works great. (Just remember not to press down on the glass for leverage or you may break the glass).

Great deal on KD Tools 2038 at ToolTopia.com

Once the trim it out of the way, use sharp safety razor blades to slice through the old rubber seal all around the perimeter of the glass. Then carefully lift out the glass and store it securely where it will not fall over or something else will not fall over on it. For example, store it under a bed or on a rack that is securely mounted to some structure.

Cleaning out the pinch weld area is usually a PITA but is necessary. It is messy and usually requires mineral spirits or other solvent type products.
