Would it be OK to use Epoxy primer under the car long term?

I am getting to the point where I need to make a decision about the underside of the car and I am pondering red oxide Epoxy primer both under the car and on top of the floor/transition area and leaving it at that.

I know it does not like sunlight, but I cant pick a color for the outside of the car yet, so matching the underside just aint gonna happen anyway and that red oxide look with new stainless lines would look really nice, but would it hold up over time or should I pick some type of paint?

I AM NOT going to use any type of bed liner/U-pol or textured coating no matter what, the underside of the car is new and I dont want more "goo" so lets leave that for the wheel wells and truck bed discussions please.

That's my plan. Leaving the PPG DP74LF on the undercarriage and leaving it as is forever. Some guys do that and then use a satin clear over the epoxy but I'm going to take my chances with epoxy only and see how it goes.

Timing for this thread was perfect - was about to do a search and create a thread if needed.

Looks like I am going to stick with my plan to paint with epoxy primer and be done with it.

Thanks!!

My GT was sprayed with black epoxy on the underside, that's what I wanted. And that was in '06, it's holding up awesome so far.
