I am stupmed here. I have a professionaly built 331 stroker short block. The shop also installed the cam, timing chain ,timing cover, and balancer for me. I instslled the top end,..... tf heads, edelbrock intake, holley carb etc.....
i installed the engine and could not get it to start, after 2 new starters and a few hours trouble shooting i found a bad connection to the battery, one problem solved.
Try to start the new engine and nothing,... it would turn over but not fire, checked the timi g and realized i was at tdc on the exhaust stroke. Made the adjustment and tried again several times with no luck. Check everything out and find that i am not getting fuel into the bowls. Pull the carb apart and can not find anything blocking so i take it back to the shop i got it from. No one can figure this out so i grab a new qf carb and try it.
Crank the engine over fir a few seconds and check tge fuel pressure, no problems carb is working as it should......great... lets go
i try to get it started and no luck, pull the number 1 plug check fir spark snd its great, check for compression snd ZERO, i mean nothing. I pull all the plugs and its the same for all 8. Wtf.......
i am stumped here. I had someone say to pour some oil or trans fluid in each cylinder via the spark plug hole but i dont know.
I pulled the valve covers off and cranked the engine over and all roller rockers are moving. But i did notice that i did not see any oil coming into the vavle train whike i was cranking the engine?
Anyone have any ideas..... i am pretty deflated at this point.
