I’ve never used theirs, but have the Street or Track parts. There are more users of the SOT parts here with great feedback. Take a look, they’re more money, but I feel you get all of the value out of them.



 
I wonder where they are made?
 
Has anyone used these upper control arms and adjustable strut rod kit from Specialty Products Company??


My upper and lower ball joints are shot. These have the "Shelby drop" built into them and I like the adjustability of the strut rods. They are pricey at $750 for the kit so I'd like to get some opinions before spending that kind of $$$.

Thoughts?

Pricey for what you get, that's for sure. The shaft bushings in the upper arms..... I'd want to know what's in there.
The lack of a back crossbar in the arm is a problem from a strength standpoint.
I'd want to fix the piss-poor geometry of the factory arms; wonder what the camber curve and motion ratio is on those arms.

Then it doesn’t really “fix” anything….. so it’s wasted money. It’s debatable whether whatever those shaft bushing are are worth anything over steel/steel factory bushings……. I don’t see the “draw” of the product.

With the specialty products control arm do you not have to drill the car to achive a Shelby drop? It is built into the arm?
Look closely at the pivot shaft. The mounting holes aren't in line with the bushing axis..... there's your drop.

I never have understood that deal about not drilling a car. It's a Mustang, not the Mona Lisa. Drill the lower holes,
don't take the cheesy way out...... completely my PERSONAL opinion.

Interesting opinion... Mine is just the opposite. Why poke more holes in your car when you can just use a different bracket?

And with that thought, how well engineered and made is said bracket? Suspension and brakes are two areas not to cut corners. In your research, compare the drop brackets from SPC and SOT.
