1967/1968 GT Valance 2.5" tailpipe options?

The only ones I can seem to find are Flowmasters.. They say "Under valance exit". I'm not sure if that means through the GT cutouts, or what..

Any other options? There has got to be more than 1!

A few years ago I used tailpipes from Pro-motorsports/Dr. Gas. 2 1/2" aluminumized pipes with turndowns at the valance but I cut them and put my 68 tips on. Not sure if they are still available or not but they fit great, I was using dynomax super turbo mufflers at the time.

Yes. They were designed to exit under the valance, but I cut them off, added a bit of pipe, cut off the ends of the 68 twin pipe tips till they mated up with the 2 1/2" pipe, welded it all up and they fit great, tight but great.

I've got the Magnaflow 2 1/2" kit many members bought on special years ago. It's tight but the tailpipes fit, went with a single tip.

I looked for Magnaflow, but they don't seem to offer only the tailpipe. Flowermaster claims (At least Summit racing claims) the flowermasters exit UNDER the valance.. So that's not good.. Dr. Gas is quite a bit more expensive.. But it's looking lik ethose are my only options, besides custom?

My Global West shackles are much thicker than stock and my exhaust guy was still able to install them. Makes me wonder what your tailpipes look like.

My tailpipes look like...... Well, they are invisible...?

I'm debating between the flowmaster 15807's, and the Mac 64660.. The mac's say GT Style, but I'm not sure if that means valance exit? Anyone try them? Wondering if I should start another thread debating these 2 tailpipes.

I say go custom as well. I had a 2.5" system installed with Flowmaster 40s. Came out cheaper than buying a pre-built unit. Plus, I was able to add the tips I wanted. I got my 2.5" GT tips from these guys Great Lakes Customs

I agree that custom built will probably be cheaper than pre bent ones that you may have to modify yourself as I did. There is definately room for 2 1/2", just have to get the right bends.

Ya go custom. Like others have said 2.5" is tight, but definitely doable. Here is the exhaust on my latest two cars. Both are full 2.5", Dynomax super turbos, and exit through the valance. The entire setup including the price of the mufflers, tips, tubes, and all the labor was around 325 to maybe give you a price range. And get a shop that can bend the tubes without kinking or crushing it.

I what to get 2.5 through the 65/66 gt valance. I think you guys with the 67/68 valance have it easy. lol

I would get the Flowmaster 2.5" rear pipes and take the car to a good muffler shop. They might have to tweak them a little but they can get them to fit. That is what I did on two of my cars - one of which had staggered rear shocks.

I had a custom shop install Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers, duals straight back & 2.5" is all fits thru vert trans tunnel. Had installer then follow specs in back of Ford shop manual as to location & how far dual quad tips should come out. Nice exhaust not to loud. Yes even that is in the book.

THanks for the replies guys! I'm going with the flows and then I'll bend/cut to fit I suppose.

Custom doesn't seem like a cost worthy thing when they could probably just adjust these for a few bucks.

I'll let ya know if they aim out of the valance out of the box! (Err, assuming my spintechs are in the correct place. A big if since I had no idea where they were supposed to end up!)
