I completed the timing on my 74 302 in my 68, Vacuum is 20psi solid, RPM at idle is between 850 and 900. Timing is 10 BTC. Stock distributor and coil. i have an edelbrock 4bbl carb 1405. The throttle response to the rear wheels is slow, RPMs are up but no power. Not sure where to look next transmission oil is full.... This is a new car to me, never had it running before now. Not sure if its a transmission issue or did i do something incorrect with the timing?

Thank you.

I'm in the camp with the "slipping" transmission. But, want to add.....
It sounds like you have a stock engine and drive train. This being the case, your rear is either a 2.80 or 3.00 open rear. The acceleration factor is going to be slow(er) than what you might be used to if compared to your DD (daily driver). Just saying.

Bet you a nickel. . . . the low compression '74 eng, with a sloppy timing chain, 10 degrees initial, ontop of 3.00:1 open gears, down hill with the wind to your back, 100hp at best. Sorry, tune it as best you can and enjoy it, you'll probably never going to get allot out of this particular combination.
