1970 Mustang Mach 1 428CJ R-Code, 4 speed, 3.50 Traction-Lok
Medium Bright Blue Metallic with Black interior.

I'm curious, what is the aluminum canister left front of the shaker?

Also the smaller blue thingy that connects to the aluminum canister via the hose?

The 428CJ (and other FE engines from this era) uses a Thermactor system to reduce emissions by adding air to the exhaust stream. The canister in front is called an "anti-backfire canister". Not quite sure what you mean by "smaller blue thingy", but it might just be the canister support bracket. A clamp holds the canister and hose to the bracket.
