With work finally slowing down in a couple of weeks so I can breathe again, I have a neato little box in the basement with parts for the 351W heads project. Got a cam, lifters, springs, push rods, timing chain, etc, etc from Summit Racing. I really enjoyed working with the rep there. He talked me into backing off a notch on the cam aggression. But I'm all set up and with a little free time, I'll remove the junky smog heads from my 81 302 and breathe a little more life into it with these windsor heads.

I've been promising to do this job for several years now and its becoming reality finally. As with everything I do, and being a cheapskate according to Midlife, this is a budget job. The entire project with cam, port and polish will come in about $450. And yes, there are some shortcuts. But, for as few miles as I put on the stang, I'll get away with it for now.

I'll keep you abreast of the project once it gets rolling....

Tell Midlife you aren't a cheapskate, you are just thifty!!! I have been working on a 5.0 conversion for the past two years, I am still gathering parts. If I just went out and bought everything it would have been done long ago but some of the fun is in chasing down hard to find parts like my GT40 heads and roller rockers from Crane cams (with Ford part numbers) a complete set of 1993 Mustang Cobra heads for $300. gotta search out the deals.
