It's been a busy car week for me... hence all these questions.
About a week ago I couldn't shift into Reverse. The bushings were shot. I bought a shifter rebuild kit and that fixed the issue. While I had it apart I saw 2 things that don't make sense to me.
1. the 7400 assembly, where the shifter mounts into, seems too wide for the shifter. The right side 7B125 spring/cup would just fall out. You can see this in the second pic. The shifter mounts to the left side, and there's a gap on the right side. It looks like something is missing, but the manuals don't show anything being there.
2. 15546 electric release. It's circled in the second pic. How is this supposed to be actuated? It looks like it just rests against the outside of the right side.
As always, thank for the help/insights.
