65 or 66 on E-bay, which is it?

Due to the overwhelming number of '66 parts, I'd guess it's actually a '66. While I realize that they are all bolted on to a '65 easily enough, rarely if ever, do you see the side trim installed on a different year (IMHO). The only thing that says '65 that's pictured is a ratty pop riveted door tag and a Georgia tag registration! I'd want to see the inner apron VIN stamp...and still wouldn't touch that one with a ten foot pole!!

Probably a 66 with a 65 door installed. I'm pretty sure the engine compartment VINs won't match the door - nor the title!

Could be two cars thrown together as one. It's not that uncommon with the mindboggling, staggering number of coupes that were produced. The Interior Black paint is way too glossy...and it looks like his "spotless" mint interior needs the back seat bottom re-upholstered IMHO...though minor.

I would check the VIN#'s on both inner fenderwells to be sure... That's the only surefire way... ;)

Many cars like this came out of California to get around a crazy smog law they had years ago..I don't think that is the case here... except it was in was in reverse...People were turning their '66's into '65's to make them avoid be smogged as '65's at one time were the only ones exempt, but '66's were not in California. This was like over 20+ years ago..

Every single item on the car screams '66, except the pop riveted door tag and registration slip. It has a '66 grill, '66 side trim, '66 dash, '66 seat covers, '66 door/window cranks, '66 gas cap.

Nobody would go to this much trouble to make a '66 clone from a '65.

Numbers matching? With a Holley "CARBORATOR" and a V8 in a T code?

That thing is a legal quagmire just waiting to haunt someone!

I asked him about it, as many others probably have. Now I wait to see if he replies.

Has he replied yet?
I bet he won't.

The bids are up to 24 now, can't believe that people
don't see the big problem here!

I wouldn't touch that car with a 10 foot pole!

He sent this response:
"hi,For 65-67, the VIN is stamped on the top of the left front fender apron. i know There should be cut-out in the fender sheetmetal. i looked there is no cut out could it be somewhere else ?if you know pls, thank you."

I told him where to find the hidden VINs.
