Being that the Ebay car was listed in Illinois, and you're from Illinois, is it safe to assume that you're either the buyer or seller of the car in question, or are you just someone who's interested?

From what I have seen, Ford wouldn't send that letter unless it was a 67 or later car. I've never seen one for a 65/66 car. Has anyone ever tried to get a 999 report for a 65/66 and succeeded and gotten this letter?

Is the letter real?

if its the letter i am thinking of (999 report) they likely run it through a decoder and print out the information

and there may be more then 2 in IL - but not many more in Illiopolis... is the car still for sale local in that town??

Here's the friggin link:
The Ultra Rare 65 X Code

What a moron. He would show the numbers on the inner fender if he had any balls.
Clever how things are now getting "misplaced".

The seller has no balls! No pics of the warranty plate on the door + the VIN on the fender apron = AVOID

All of you guys a right and I want to thank you for alerting me to this possible scam artist. It is sad to see what things are coming to in this day and age. The same guy also sold a guy a Mustang from Australia and never sent the car but took his money allegidly.

Thanks again for the tip on this guy. I read everything you sent me and was sick over what happened to you. I sent you a note on eBay but got no response. I just cannot get over the fact that eBay has not thrown his tail out of there? But he prays on people that want to stop the auction early so he gets around eBay. JERK!

The auction has been ended by goodnewsgospel seems that he got nervous?? He ended with.

"The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the minimum bid or reserve amount."

But he never relisted the auction? HMMM

Probably was because of this question that his dad responded too and posted in the ad probably by mistake Auction ended short time later all the same day 8/26/06:

"This is a very interesting car. Do you think the X could stand for Experimental? You said you have a Marti reoprt, but I thought they only went back to 1967? Do the door tag, title, and vin stamping on the fenders all match? I see the title is from Illinois. Is the car in illinois or Tenn? Thanks, and good luck. Jack

A: hello Jack, i talked to a man who called me from a ford dealership a few days ago and he told me that the x code was an experimental car that ford made and nobody knows much about them from the information he had gotten from the owner! the report that we have that came from ford motor co. is shown in picture he said was the same as a marti report. So really i guess not many people really knows much about this car. thanks for asking robert"

I knew about the whole situation with this car and that it was very fishy, so I'm the one who asked the e-bay question. I am surprised that he posted the question and reply. What a crock of ****! This guy's a scam, but he will find someone to buy in...I think he had 7 or 8 bidders when I checked. Too bad, someone's gonna get screwed.
