I just got my new lighter cylinder for my dash. The new cylinder comes with this extra metal connector installed over the gold threaded post. My original wire is round and installs on that post. The new flat connector on the new cylinder does unscrew from the post. Can you just remove it and hook up the original round connector to it. I'm assuming they added it for later style connectors. Thanks.

Yeah just swap it, or wire snip it off.
