Anybody actually likes Lime Gold?

I think that by far is the most hated color of factory Mustangs for 1967-68-69 but at the same time it was the most popular in the era becoming almost Iconic with the 60's.

I just bought a 1968 GT/CS project in that color and plan to stick with it.

Does anybody like it even though it might be your car factory color?

yep kept mine, complete with vinyl top and all the trim. Nothing says 67 like a vinyl top!! The nice thing is, at shows we're a rare color now. It's nice NOT to be like all the reds and blues out there.
You also see they brought the color back as well as other nice things of the 67-68 year!

I agree with you 100%...lot better than red...people who had this color as factory color painted their cars red...red is just too common.

I like it. A lot of people changed colors years ago if a car was originally lime gold but it seems to be making a comeback in popularity now.

I like the color green (green is one of my favorite colors) but I'm not a big fan of the Lime Gold shade. I don't outright hate it but it just doesn't do anything for me either.

Since I'm another one who feels there's too many red and black cars out there I WOULD choose a Lime Gold car over a red or black one though. It does stand out these days like mentioned above since it's less common, same reason my Acapulco Blue car stands out.

I also will say that Lime Gold does look better with a clear coat too.

I used to not be too crazy about it, but after the Grande got painted it has started to grow on me. It also helps with the sleeper image of the car. The clearcoat finish really helps it stand out.

I also would choose Lime Gold OVER red anytime!! I sold last year a 1968 GT/CS that needed refurbishing but besides being the common C-code with auto tranny...the main reason I sold it its because it was RED...I am a purist and would not paint it any other color.

The project I purchased its a J-code 4 speed GT/CS LIME GOLD with ivy gold interior...

My Aunt and Uncle had a Lime Gold 1967 Galaxie 500 in pristine condition (this was the late '70s). My Uncle had passed away, and my Aunt always said I could have the car. Anywhooo, as a junior in High School I would have loved a '67 390 Galaxie. My aunt passed away in '78 and I fast forward to 2004 or so when my Mom tells me I should have "said something" because she could have gotten the car for me back then. "WHAT!" I mean it seemed too much at the time to ask for my dead Aunt's car - I was a kid and so what if she'd said I could have it.

Anyway, I've liked that color ever since. SHMBO hates it, so I'm likely to find a Lime Gold Mustang in my future. ;)

I never really cared for it on the 67/68 cars, but I like it on the '05 and later cars. My first FB was originally Lime Gold, but the PO had painted it a dark moss green, after it got hit I changed it to Candy apple red. My current FB will always be green, or atleast as long as I own it.
