After working on that special project, at what point do you actually drive it?
I have three, yes three, in different stages of completion. The most drivable still doesn't have the console back in, and I see EVERY missing part and defect.
Yes, I am a perfectionist, sound familiar, and my friends tell not to be so critical. I drove my Vert for a few weeks this spring until I garaged it to finish the interior. You guessed it, haven't got back to it yet. The summer is only so long in the Midwest.
At what point do you say, "What to H#ll", and just enjoy?
Shrinks and arm-chair analysts please chime in! :joker:

Well, I know where you are coming from, perfectionist and all. And likely driving it with console out will bother you more then the pleasure you get from the drive....SO...put then dang console in and drive...then work on the other cars! We are talking about 20 mins work here. ::

For a week I ran mine without a dash.....

Hell, tonight I drove 80 miles on a 2 lane highway, just for fun. I ran about 75-80 the whole way @ 3100 rpm.

If it moves and stops under its own power, I'll drive it.

Look, mine looks like Frankenstein, (spelling?) But Tiggermom just got the dash back in and I will drive it to get the bugs out. I will not paint it until the bugs are "out of here". If I want to look cool, I'll drive her car,.

I'd drive my fastback now except for uncertain brakes and the fact that it can't get through emissions just yet. So, I drive it illegally around my neighborhood now and then. I've taken it to shows over the last two years putting it in first as an in-progress entry and now as a regular modified class entry. The first time it was entered, it had no gas tank, no interior, but it was just painted and looked gorgeous sitting on matching flatbed trailer. Now at least I can drive it around the parking lot at a show and it looks almost done. Most people wouldn't notice what is unfinished--at least the judges haven't as it's won First Place and Best of Show in the last five MCA regional judged shows it's been in.

There is more to console but I will not get into that now.
I can see I am not alone, so drive it and I am sure this winter it might be 99% done.
Thank You All!

i drive mine when they are mechanically safe. i have driven mine with only one seat no instruments, no other interior you could open the trunk up and see all the way to the firewall. made for the quickest health and welfare check while i was stationed at ft. hood ::
