Does anyone know off hand the thread size and length of bolt for a two bolt starter? It’ going on a 200 inline six. The bellhousing has a C7 casting. None of the bolts I have around are fitting. Plan to go to hardware store later today. Thanks.

I found that my old 289 exhaust manifold bolts worked perfectly. Upgraded to HiPo manifolds that needed new bolts, and had a pile of the others left over. That and... well.... I lost my starter bolts so had to use something lol.
not sure about your 6 cylinder but all the v8 ones i have seen from 65 through the fox bodies were a special bolt 3/8-16 with a 1/2" six point head.
npd has them
Thanks everyone for all of your replies. Appreciate it. It turns out that the 3/8-16 is the correct one for my application. I should have given more information about my situation. I have replaced a C4 transmission with a 3.03 manual. The C4 had a three bolt starter. Those starter bolts were too small for my new bellhousing. Most likely those bolts are the 5/16-18 that many of you mentioned. My new starter is a two bolt pattern. I was able to find the 3/8-16 at my local hardware store. Follow up question: should there be a washer applied to the bolt? If so, flat or lock (or perhaps both)? Thanks
Ok Thanks. Kb65- appreciate the link to npd. I did find some at a hardware store yesterday, but I think I’ll order those up as well. Hopefully I’ll be able to get the car started back up early this week. Thanks again.
The orginal bolts are 3/8 16 with a 1/2 inch wrench head . There about 1 1/2 inchs long . I have a few left over from years gone by .
