Borgeson to Ididit Column Length Issues

Hey folks. Wondering if someone can comment. Per the attached images I just installed an Ididit tilt column in my 66 and it looks like the rag joint, takes up too much space causing the column to come slightly short of the hole in the fire wall. Has anyone had this issue when using a Borgeson box. And what did you do about it ? Another 1/4 inch and I’d have it. But the shafts are completely seated on both sides.

Ok. So both ididit and Borgeson tried to be helpful but in the end had no solution telling me there were variances in the tolerances of these cars that were likely the culprit. But that isn’t making much sense to me. I either need a shorter rag joint or a fire wall mounting plate with a collar. I think classic performance products makes a shorter rag joint. But does anyone know of a fire wall mounting plate with a collar.

"or a fire wall mounting plate with a collar "

You should be able to buy that component from Ididiit or EPAS Performance that makes the electric steering kit that I used. It comes with the fire wall mounting plate with a collar. I'd cal EPAS and ask about that item. Their phone # 941 893 5427 . They are good about answering and getting you fixed up.

Just to close out this conversation, I just purchased the CPP rag joint from Summit which is about 1/2 shorter than the Borgeson so that should be enough to close the fire wall column gap. I really appreciate your replies and direction. The part number is RJC-736636. 11/16-36 X 3/4-36 if anyone ever needs one. Summit will take the Borg. Rag back. They’re pretty darn good about returns.
