Title pretty much says it all. is the process the same as a t56 swap?

I'm not sure what's involved, or if it's really feasible. I've never seen anyone install a TR6060 into anything, unless it was already attached to an LS3, LT1, or Trinity. From an article on FordMuscle.com:

"The important difference between the TR-6060 and the Magnum is the TR-6060 uses a remote shifter configuration like what we talked about earlier, to keep NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) concerns to a minimum for manufacturers. The TR-6060 also has an integral bellhousing, cast into*the front of the transmission. The*Magnum has a conventional bellhousing. The Magnum also uses a slip-yoke 31-spline tailshaft configuration, which is more desirable from a strength and weight standpoint. The TR-6060 uses a bolt on yoke."

I say you just join the club and get the T56 Magnum. It's a (slightly) better transmission anyways. [emoji6]

The TR6060 has a bellhousing that is only meant for certain platforms. I wish it would work, I find them now and then for a great deal, but sadly you need the T-56, which comes with alot of work.

The TR6060 does not have an integral bell housing. It has the same bell bolt pattern as the T56. Any bell that a T56 can bolt to, the TR6060 can as well. The TR6060 is superior to the T56 in every measurable way. Its lighter, has stronger internals, and the shifter mechanism was drastically improved. I have a T56 in my SRT10 and a TR6060 in my Viper. I have already bought a TR6060 for my Boss 429 project. I can't wait to install it when the time comes. Practically every performance Mopar with a 6 speed since 2008 has used the TR6060, so they are becoming more and more common for swaps. I got mine for a grand.

Here is a great article on the subject:

Not entirely true. The Dodge versions (viper, challenger, etc) do have the removable bell housing, but GM (Gen V camaro and later) and Ford (GT 350 and GT500) have integral bell housings.

Depends which TR6060 you are planning to use. What version are you looking into and what do plan to bolt it to?

The T-56 Magnum is what you need for a 6 speed in a non GM car. It has the same innards as the 6060 but in a more user friendly case. Here's a snip from the super chevy article posted above:

The aftermarket T-56 Magnum version has the beefier innards of the TR-6060 in an aluminum case that is pretty much a duplicate of the fourth-gen case, but it’s not a bolt-in solution for the fourth-gen cars, either. The bellhousing and tailshaft are incompatible, especially the tailshaft, which is too long and has the wrong shifter location for an F-body.

TR6060 is bigger than a T56, a magnum is just a TR6060 in an beefier T56 case. The Magnum doesn't fit where T56's do with out some work.
