center console measurements or templates?

Been toying with getting a Mustangs to Fear center console but they've been undergoing some changes and I've had a few issues getting responses from them.

now after a few weeks of looking at their examples and seeing what's there I started thinking I could easily make this myself and get it customized exactly how I want.

I know I've seen a few build threads and a few people have mentioned providing some templates either in solid works or otherwise but I've not seen anything materialize.

The basic structure of the 2 sides of the box should be pretty standard if building a console of this style....

what you put between the sides would be what's custom.

so, does anyone have a template they'd be willing to share so I don't have to reinvent the wheel? would be a nice resource for anyone really looking to do something similar.

I posted link to 67 console because currently MTF took the 65/66 ones down. but the idea is the same. my car is 65 Coupe

For most of us who have built custom consoles I would hazard a guess that nearly no one is measuring. The reason being that its very specific to the build and to the person building it. Mine for example I made because I grafted in a 2005 tunnel into a '66...which has a transmission with a different shifter location than anyone else...even if someone else did graft in the same tunnel there is no way to know if they would locate it in the same place...etc etc:

Anyway, the point is that unless you are building a custom console for a factory application they are all fairly customized. And why would you build a custom console for a factory application when there are so many out there you can buy? By the time I got done paying for material and calculating my time in, I probably spent more.

while i don't totally disagree with your premise, I think there are many who would appreciate some general measurements that work as a guideline for length/height of various portions of the side rails of the console if nothing else. I have a fairly stock setup but with 5 speed tremec and fiero seats. however, I just don't like any one console enough to buy it without plans to hack it up to add buttons, cup holders, lights, speakers etc. there are a few that are close like the MTF ones. Unfortunately since it is approaching $1k with said options above it is a bit unnerving. I can mock something up in cardboard and transfer those to MDF but having a starting point from someone who has already done it would be great. I found an ebay listing for a fiberglass one that does a decent job of showing measurements of the object. I could use that as a guide but since I don't know anyone who has actually used this piece I'm not sure how much trimming or additional manufacturing might be needed.

last few pics of the link below show both tape measure and printed measurements

That is exactly the problem when looking at most consoles...there are very few that you like and would leave alone...so you fall down the rabbit hole of making your own. I used fiberglass myself...the MDF route never had much appeal. I actually drew inspiration from an aftermarket Nova console...and it transformed as I was making it into what it is, this one was the basic inspiration if I remember correctly, but I went with more of a taper reminiscent of a mach 1:

You are best off designing you own...fiberglass is pretty easy to work with in the end...and a lot lighter than MDF

That looks awesome. I've never done fiberglass other than patching a few holes here and there and it's never pretty but is functional. Fiberglass molded around some model?

How did you do the stitching along the edges?
