I have a screw hole (#10) in a painted door. Its from a prior side mirror that will not be covered by the new mirrors I want to put on the door. Is there a way to seal up this hole without getting the welder out? I am wondering about epoxy or fiberglass resin or body filler. Any ideas that will stand the test of time?

I'd remove the interior door panel and put a piece of resin coated fiberglass cloth on the inside of the door covering the hole. After it dries you can fill the depression from the outside with your choice of filler and paint over it.
JB Weld or other epoxy, dimple the hole a little so it is below the surrounding surface and that will keep it from cracking around the hole from sanding it down too thin. Grind or sand to bare metal first.
