I installed a newly rebuilt 1966 200 CID I6 in my '65 coupe. It is a T5 upgrade project. For some reason, I cannot get enough throw out of the clutch pedal and linkage to release the clutch. Z-bar is fine with new bushings, but full pedal only moves the clutch release lever back to about 90 degrees relative to the axis of the engine. Not sure how far it needs to go but I can push it that far with my hand, so pressure plate springs aren't being compressed. This also keeps the pedal from returning without pulling it up.
My '65 linkage has the little (non-adjustable) lower clutch rod; it adjusts at the upper clutch rod. Since I used all stock parts: flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing, I am mystified as to why it would require any more throw than is built into the linkage.
Anybody have a suggesting for an adjustable lower clutch rod in this application? Or any other insight. Maybe I got something wrong on assembly but I cannot imagine what. Thanks.
