Could somebody eyeball these valves for me please?

While the junkyard dive has taught me a fair amount about the the rear brakes, I'm a still brand new to these engines. Could someone eyeball this head and valves to see if they look stock to you? Good news is that it looks pretty clean and well oiled, to my eyes anyway. Thanks!

That valve train looks stock/correct for 1969 302 with change level L4 which occured starting around Oct 1968. Valve springs should be 'orange' color coded but color may have faded over time or valve springs on that engine may have been replaced (or I just cant see the color in that pic).

From that side of the head you should be able to see a cast in '302' and 'E'.

OK somehow I got confused and thought you were looking at a junkyard engine. I understand now.

How long have you owned the car? Does the engine still have its ID tags (on the intake, carb, and dist)? Are you trying to determine its originality or ?

Probably my fault Paul, I threw the junkyard thing in there (pulled Aerostar brakes off for this same '69 with help from Pete and others). Sorry.

This car will be a driver, being built up for fast road touring events that I like to do. 500-1,000 miles over 2 or 3 days on California backroads. Originality is not a big issue, looking for a good balance of reliability, tractable power and comfortable over those sorts of distances.

Will need to check those to see if the tags are there still, good idea. Thanks.
