Dashpot assembly question

I bought my '66 mustang about 9 months ago. It has a 289, Autolite 2100 and C4 transmission. The car originally came with a 3 speed manual transmission and years before I bought it, they changed the transmission from a manual to the C4.

That being said, the Autolite 2100 didn't come with a dashpot I'm assuming because it was a manual transmission. So my question is, since I now have an automatic transmission, how important is it to be on the carb and where do I find one if it is? I've looked at multiple places like Mike's Carb, Summit, etc and can't seem to find the whole assembly. TIA for your thoughts.

If there's an old-school junkyard near you with a pile of carburators, that'd be the way to go. The dashpot keeps the engine from stalling when you are driving along and yet another frigging yellow light makes you stop quickly.

For some strange reason they're not being reproduced.
I found a NOS on ebay a few yrs ago and just put in on the shelf in case I ever need it.

They do sell generics otc but you'll need to fabricate a bracket and the factory bullet connector will need to be cut.

If you bump your idle up 200 rpms you'll probably be able to live with out it.

You may get lucky with a used one from classic couger in WA state

I miss the old days when we had carb rebuilders in town. Was always able to get parts and for cheap
