Can anyone point in the direction of getting the correct vacuum modulator for my c4. Car is 68 but transmission is not original I don't think. Its a screw in type but when I bought a replacement the threaded piece was about half the diameter of the one that is installed.

I'm assuming they had at least 2 different size screw in types? Can some one educate me on if there is only 2 screw in types and what should I ask for at the parts store to get the correct larger version.

I have never seen different sizes of threaded modulators for the C4. In fact, at one time Ford sold an adjustable screw in type that fit C4, C6, Cruise-O-Matic, Ford-O-Matic, and FMX. Perhaps some pictures of your trans and modulator would help.

Maybe they gave me the wrong part last time. I feel like an idiot that I never considered that a possibility.

After fooling with PO mods and incompetent parts guys, I always just take my old part with me. Saves a lot of hassle.
