As many of you know, I have been trying to restore my 1966 Coupe over the last year. It's currently sitting with the engine out, the front end taken apart, and misc parts in the trunk etc. awaiting a new front suspension, disc brakes, and complete engine bay detail. Once I finished that phase I wanted to move onto the paint. I had planned to help with having the car painted this summer once I was on summer break from college.

Well it looks like plans have changed...
Just a little background - I am currently am a Business Finance major at UW (class of 2004) and work part-time in accounting/finance for a small software company.

Well after talking with the CEO yesterday, they want to train me (over the summer) to become the Financial Controller for the company, which means I will be working 8-10 hrs/day. I have also been assigned to complete a marketing plan for 19 states. This is a great opporunity for me, but at same time it puts my mustang restoration on hold for at least another year... until I graduate. Oh well... thats life, right?

Oh, but the good part is you'll be able to afford so many new things for your cars with that great new job! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ah, a taste of how the rest of us live! A few hours here, a few minutes there, and if you're lucky, a half day every other month.

Welcome, welcome!

Thanks for being the first to Welcome me Steve, it means a lot. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif Yes, I can see the dollar signs already being spent next year. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Perhaps I can contribute more to my stash for a '65 K GT FB. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif...ohh good thoughts.

More $$$ also means you can have someone else do some of the work , although you will appreciate it more if you do the work yourself.People like showing off their car more when they can say " I did this and I did that ". Good luck . Keep us posted.

I'de call it a fast forward to the mustang of your dreams. Getting a job is not always easy. Hving an opertunity to start working in your carrier field is great. Good job = good pay = good mustang budget.

So true, a lot of Phd's ended up flipping burgers at first after getting their degrees. It's always nice when some one wants YOU!

Good luck!

Get used to it...

I was all set to get my car ready for MCA Nationals in MA this summer...and then SWMBO and I go house shopping, find a beautiful 1870s victorian house that needs a little work but in a great neighborhood. We will be closing in May...and all money is being saved to do that little work around the house. What happens to the mustang:

Dual Exhaust put on hold
T-5 put on hold
Carpetting put on hold

Sad part is that I have the dual exhaust headers and the T-5 tranny...and everytime I go to the basement to work on the car...they are there staring me in the face and laughing at me.

Life is great though. I'm not complaining.
