I've been trying to find krylon satin black spray paint, I did my engine bay years ago, my eng is out and I wanted to redo the eng compartment, whats the next best thing?

I used Eastwood Co.'s "under hood black." It's a spray bomb lacquer that dries super fast, honestly way too fast. I don't like buying Eastwood products because I think they are way overpriced, but I made this exception.

It's been a few years, but I used to buy Semi-Flat Black #16152 rattle can paint.

Funny how I still remember the number. The local Mustang shop guys swore by it.

Depends on the sheen you want. Krylon 1613 tends towards the flat side, dries quickly, touches up easily but also scratches very easily.

Rustoluem 7777 (satin) is just a tad bit glossier, goes on easily and blends very well, takes a LONG time to dry but is very chip resistant.

I get the Krylon at Walmart or Hobby Lobby and the Rustoleum at Home Depot.

I used PPG DAR9000 mixed with the eggshell formula on top of DP90LF. I did it this way since I had the engine out and I sanddblasted the engine bay. I top coated the DP90LF since I learned that it will chalk when exposed to sunlight. It was alot of work but I feel that it will last for a long time.
