One other thing. You said you have a T5 trans. You may have to shim the tail of the trans up a bit. I know I had to in my '67 with T5 and 351C. The top of the trans is just clearing the cross member that is welded to the floor in front of the shifter.
Not to hijack the thread or anything but did you build your T5 up to withstand putting it behind your 351c? Only reason I ask is because I was thinking about doing the same thing when I had my 68 fastback but everyone said it would have too much torque for a T5. Is your cleveland stock, built?

Coupe3W I saw that post. AutoZone only sells one motor mount. The tall one. So I'm not sure what he got from Mustangs Unlimited. I spent a lot of time searching the net before I posted here. I kept thinking it's something stupid I'm doing. Anyway I finally decided I'm going to do a little structural adaptation to the mounting brackets. I think I can drop them down about 1/2 inch. Then I'll raise the tranny a tad and I think I'll be OK. I plan to use the Shelby rims. There goes over a grand. Actually if I was going to be correct I would use steel rims as that's what they came with from the factory. But I'm putting to much time and effort into this to use steel rims.

Mustang65FBK In reference to the T5 tranny. You have several options. You can buy brand new and I think they are built to take the torque. But you would have to check. You can get a used one (make sure it's world class) and have it rebuilt with parts that can handle the torque. Both those are going to cost you probably in the $1500+ range. Or you can do like I did. I spent a lot of time on Craigs List. But you really have to know what your looking for. I got burnt once. If it has the original ID tag on the tranny you can look it up and it will tell you exactly what the tranny is and what the torque and gears are. You going to be looking for 90 to 93 trannies. A lot of those can handle 300 ft lb of torque or better. There are some earlier ones that can handle that as well but they are rare. If it doesn't have a tag or you suspect it's been tampered with don't touch it. The prices are all over the place. I got mine for $280, but you can expect more in the range of $500 unless your lucky like I was. If your going to go Craigs List don't wait. Start looking immediately. It took me over a year to find mine.

I've got a T5 behind my 351w with 450hp, I was just curious how yours was holding up as people told me at the time it would never hold up behind a 351c. Many more told me mine wouldn't hold up behind my 351w, now while I don't abuse the piss out of it not do I drop the clutch at 5k rpm and power shift everytime I accelerate, I also don't drive it like a grandma and it's still holding up quite nicely. So I was just curious as clearly everything you read on the Internet isnt true

Mustang65FSB WHAT DO YOU MEAN EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET ISN'T TRUE!!! When did that happen????
Mine has not seen the road yet. But we put one in my brothers 69 Mustang with a 351 three years ago and it's still going. But it as you said, it's all in how you drive. If your constantly doing hole shots or power braking it won't last. If your basically using it for cruising you'll be good for a long time.

No, my T5 has Astro gears and main shaft. My Cleveland is not stock about 400 HP. Actually going to build a new motor late Spring early summer if all goes right with my divorce.

It happened yesterday, the same day I was born :)
