I have tried to install export braces on my 65 from two different manufacturers, Goldstar and Scott Drake. I was known to have a problem with the dimensions between the shock towers and between shock towers and cowl vent area. But I was surprised to find that there was another problem. The spacing between brace and shock towers does not fit at all. There is contact at one point, at the other two points the export brace hangs in the air. Also, the upper shock absorber mounts on the Export Brace tilt. Mounted directly on the shock towers without brace, they sit perfectly. I had this problem with both manufacturers. The car is straight and never was hit. It is impossible to bend and adjust the Export Brace, the material is too thick.
How can it be that the fit is so poor? Has anyone been able to solve the problem?
