As we all know, there are a few underhood decals that don't wear very well. In particular, the one over the battery. After a few car washes, it wrinkles pretty badly...

Just wondering if anyone has tried anything to extend the life of these? I was thinking of perhaps spraying with a clear coat before applying the decal.

Any other ideas?

sure. what i have done on driver type cars is this. lay the decal on a smooth clean surface. tape over it with some clear shipping tape. then cut around the edges with a razor blade. now install the decal as usual and you have a clearcoated decal w/o using paint which could cause the ink to bleed.
