Hello,

I have a 1965 Mustang FB with a Heidts mustang 2 front end long arm version with 4 piston 11 inch Wilwood brakes. Per the information I have found the track width for this particular set up increases from 56 (stock) to 56 7/8. I can t find any wheel back spacing info for this particular front end. Is there anyone out there running this particular set up. If so could u please reply with your current back spacing wheel size and tire size. I put a friends 17x7 with 4 inch back space on and it was super close to the fender lip. I am thinking I need a 4 1/2 bs or even 4 3/4. Does this sound correct?

I shoud also mention that this is a fresh build so no alignment has been done yet so I am wondering if I should have it aligned first then Take measurements for back spacing. The kit was professionally installed so I am wondering if alignment would affect measurement for backspacing and wheel/tire clearance?

I just installed the heidts front end with the 11” rotors as well. I see that this post is super old so I am assuming that you figured out a setup for wheel/tire size and back spacing. Any info would be great.

I am not using the Heidts, but the setup that I am using does increase the track width. I would certainly suggest doing some basic alignment, you can do it with a little reading, tape measure and common sense. With the increased track width, you won't only have to account for inside component clearance but also fender lip clearance, particularly on the front edge, if you are going for maximum tire width.

Brother has Heidt's, but I assume it has standard length arms because he is using Ridetech lower control arms for coil-overs and Heidt's upper control arms. He is running 17x9 with 5.5" backspacing. Tires are 275/40r17. The fenders and quarters are rolled. I was surprised no tire rub from what we can hear because I thought he was going too aggressive.
