I have rust on right front door bubbling and at the bottom corner, Left door look great. cowl has some surface rust. rest of car looks solid I have about 1 to 1 1/2 year before I do paint. Tomorrow I will remove the door panels on both doors
should I sand the inside down and then spray the insides and the cowl with something? A member suggested Rust-Mort any Ideas? I would appreciate any, thanks for all your help so far.

If you have a little rust now, later you will have a bunch. Before you paint, take care of all rust. Because it will come back.
There are a lot of products that take care of rust. If you don't get the answers here ask around at your local body shops. I'm not sure about that name. Nothing beats new sheetmetal.

You have the correct ideas. Course sand paper, 60-80 grit will remove most rust. Wrapping some around a paint stick will help you reach the corners. Use a vacuum to suck up the dust, then air to blow out the rest.

An old sock soaked in the cleaner recommended by the paint protectant is usefull to remove the fine dust. POR- 15 is also a reliable "paint" that sticks to rust. Wear good rubber gloves.

If you can see surface rust under the cowl vents, that is not a serious problem. The rust leaks occur where the air intakes are located at each end of the cowl. The heater box and air plenum under the left side of the dash must be removed to coat possible rust in those areas.

The surface rust you see can be inhibited with matching car paint from a shaker can.

Good luck.

The rust bubbling at the corner can't be contained. It's already too far gone else you wouldn't see the rust bubbles. . A cheap repair might be to cut the corner out and replace it but it takes quite a bit of ingenuity to craft a patch that can be brazed into the cutout without seeing the patch in the final work. If you decide to patch the door then also treat the interior with a corrosion control product like Eastwoods Por-15. In all honesty, new door skins are the only practical answer.
