how do I know if engine and t5...

That decision can really only be made by you. If you are going to put a late modle drivetrain in there then you are ahead of the game. Even if the t5 needs rebuilt and the motor needs to be machined, you already have the parts. It's cheaper to rebuild a t5 then to buy a new one and its better to have one rebuilt then to take your chances with Craigslist, IMO.
