Tell me about options to replace my computer … for my ’92 5.0 in my 66.
I assume remanufactured is the only available?
Who sells them? (I’ve only located one online source, rockauto)
Is there one remanufacturer better than another?
I know there were many different model numbers for various vehicles… but I assume that as long as a get one for 1992 mustang with automatic I’ll be good… Is that true?
The car is running, but the mechanic found that back when someone lengthened the wiring harness to reach the IAC they swapped wires… he said evidently the harness didn’t have a diode in it for that circuit, because he can’t get signal from the computer after he corrected the wiring. He assumes the driver for that circuit is fried. He’s managing my idle and cold start idle by resetting the TPS and something else for now, which isn't ideal.
