I am converting to 4ch radio system using the 'slide bar radio' to keep the stock look.

I bought the "67-68 Co-Axial Speaker (5x7) Adapter"
Scott Drake C7AZ-18808-DLX - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

The plastic adapter to put speakers in the place of the single/AM Radio hole in the front dash is fine. Fits well.

The speakers it comes with are crap Chinese non-coax speakers (not as pictured :( ).

I threw them away and installed 4" Pioneer coax speakers.

Sounds like a classic bait and switch sales approach; show you one think and sell you a similar looking item, but of lessor quality,

The Scott Drake name used to mean reproduction parts of the highest quality, but at some point, seemingly overnight, it seems like they started selling many more different items, and the quality suffered as the inventory grew.

Been there, done that , got them sitting on the shelf.
Speakers that small are never going to perform. I ended up putting 6.5 inch high end speakers in the kick panels and quarter panels. Looking at a couple of tweeters up higher up in the front somewhere.

I have 5 1/4" coaxials with swiveling tweeters in the kickpanels. I would love to utilize that space in the front dash for a speaker or two. I tried two 4" speakers in that spot just as fill and didn't like the way it sounded mostly because I couldn't control what went to them. Would love to have a head unit with a front, rear, SW and a center channel.

Drake makes a lit of good parts but they also sell a lot of rebranded parts of greatly varying quality. I always try to look at a part or get a review before I buy. I also buy through NPD which has a great return policy.

Speakers that small are really just very large tweeters...;)

You can use a 4" speaker and put a 150-400Hz capacitor and use them for a mid bass. Makes a difference when used with kick panel speakers,
